Casting Guide

There are many ways a custom orthotic can be made. We can make hand crafted, precision quality, custom orthotics for your patients once we receive a negative cast. You can use foam, plaster or 3D laser scanning. All casting options will produce a great orthotic for your patient, and the method you use depends on your style as a practitioner.

Plaster Cast

This method is the most common amongst Chiropodists. It involves a fair amount of time, skill and clean up and is a good method to use when trying to capture bony abnormalities.

Foam Cast

This method is the most common amongst Chiropractors. It is easy to do, requires less cleanup and done well it captures a good profile of the foot.

Laser Scanning
